One heartwarming scene involved Barry speaking to his Earth-2 mother, as she is still alive on this Earth, which I’ll admit choked me up a little bit.Īdditionally, there were a handful of Easter Eggs shown within the portal to Earth-2. Captain Cold, is the mayor of Central City, a mention of Atlantis, and a reference to the Justice Society in the CCPD. The episode also makes various nods to the comics and features several Easter Eggs, including the names Bruce, Hal, and Diana on Earth-2 Barry’s house phone, a line that suggests Leonard Snart, a.k.a. And Caitlyn Snow and Ronnie Raymond are super villains known as Killer Frost and Deathstorm. Deadshot, of Arrow fame, is a CCPD detective who actually sucks shooting. Barry is still a forensic scientist, but even more of a dork (example, him geeking out over meeting Dr. Unlike her Earth-1 counterpart, Iris West is a detective for the CCPD. We are introduced to several Earth-2 doppelgangers, which made for some very fun scenes and even some heartwarming ones.
Earth-2 is a fun, vibrant take on Earth-1, more advanced and futuristic in some ways, but also very old school in other ways. Since the concept of the multiverse was first revealed on The Flash this has been the type of episode I’ve been wanting to see. It is definitely the best episode of The Flash‘s second season so far. I’m just going to go right out and say it.
